My 6 week old son hasn't pooped in 2 days, just pee and farts. Are there any home remedies I can try?
I have already been rubbing his back, he has a playseat that vibrates like it's a car and that's not working, and warm baths aren't working. I'm getting a little worried but I want to avoid the hospital if possible because I don't want him around the germs when he's so young. So if anyone knows of some tricks or exercises or anything, PLEASE help me out, preferably ASAP!!!!!
It's not entirely uncommon for infants to have irregular BM's. If he's passing gas, and doesn't appear to be exceptionally uncomfortable or in pain, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
To that end, though, it certainly wouldn't hurt to call your pediatrician and ask - my own doctor has told us that "normal" BM's for a baby can be from 6-8 dirty diapers a day, to once every 3 days, and to not be alarmed unless he's gone more than 5 days w/o a BM (which seems excessive to me, personally, but that's what she said!).
