Abdominal trigger point injections....questions.....?
I had an abdominal injury (fell on the bathtub) and since then have been experiencing a burning sensation all over my stomach and upper abdominal area. Long story short, every G.I test has been done (including endoscopy) and came out normal. They determined that I have either nerve or muscular/skeletal injuries. I just had a trigger point injection on Monday and I still do not have any relief. Do the trigger point injections take awhile to kick in? Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any advice?
I had my gallbladder removed in October 2006 & have had bad pain in the area where the gallbladder used to be ever since. I too had a number of tests, including barium enema & endoscopy, which were all clear. They came to the conclusion that they may have trapped a nerve during surgery so i now have steroid trigger point injections every 12 weeks. The first one seemed to work quite well and reduced pain by about 70% but it then started to get worse again and the last one i had, 6 weeks ago, has not helped at all. The injections can stir the pain up for a week or so, then you will gradually notice a difference, you don't get immediate relief.
